How We Help Businesses

SJEDS is the first point of contact to connect expanding companies with resources to contribute to their success. SJEDS collaborates with San Juan County, San Juan College, the cities of Aztec, Bloomfield, and Farmington, as well as the Navajo Nation on pertinent issues and projects for the purpose of job creation and developing a healthy and more diverse economy. We can help you find the resources for business expansion and relocation.

SJEDS helps businesses find the resources for expansion and relocation, and incubation (start-up). We look for and advocate for tax incentives, job training programs, appropriate land and business packages.

We are committed to helping improve the economy and quality of life in rural America. Through our programs, we touch rural America in many ways.

Our financial programs support such essential public facilities and services as water and sewer systems, housing, health clinics, emergency service facilities and electric and telephone service. We promote economic development by supporting loans to businesses through banks, credit unions and community-managed lending pools. We offer technical assistance and information to help agricultural producers and cooperatives get started and improve the effectiveness of their operations. We provide technical assistance to help communities undertake community empowerment programs.
