Four Corners
The only location in the United States where four states, Arizona, Colorado, New Mexico, and Utah, meet in a single spot. Standing on the brass cap allows an individual to stand in four states at one time. The monument is located entirely on Navajo Nation land, please respect their land and customs. The Four Corners Monument is approximately 67 miles west of Aztec.

Mesa Verde National Park
One of the most famous Anasazi cliff dwelling ruins in the Southwest, visitors can walk through cliff dwellings and numerous mesa top villages built by the Anasazi people between AD 600 and AD 1300. Lodging, camping, tours, and restaurants available at the park.  Mesa Verde is approximately 87 miles northwest of Aztec.

Hovenweep National Monument
Consisting of five major ruin complexes or groups that spread from Colorado into Utah, the monument is noted for its solitude, clear skies and undeveloped, natural character.  The Anasazi who built Hovenweep are also responsible for the ruins within Mesa Verde.  Camping and day hiking permitted within the park.  Hovenweep is approximately 117 miles northwest of Aztec.

Lowry Pueblo Ruins
These ruins were originally excavated in the 1930s and later restored in the 1960's. Accessible as a self-guided trail (with wheelchair ramps), Lowry Ruin is typical medium-sized pueblo with about 40 rooms and 8 kivas.  Abandoned around 1150 A.D., one of the more interesting features is the actual kiva as found when excavated by archaeologists, plaster and wooden shelves still intact.  Lowry Pueblo Ruin is approximately 104 miles northwest of Aztec.

Anasazi Heritage Center
Is a museum operated by the Bureau of Land Management.  The museum features permanent exhibits, archaeological sites to visit, new and different special exhibits and events, traveling exhibits for loan, educational resources for teachers and a large research collection from the Dolores Archaeological Program (DAP) and other archaeological projects.  Some of the exhibits describe fieldwork and laboratory research and display many of the objects from the DAP excavations. The center is located 3 west of Dolores, CO, and 81 miles northwest of Aztec.
