Aztec Chamber of Commerce & Visitors Center

Our Vision

2007-2012

As part of the new five-year strategic plan, the Board of Directors of the Aztec Chamber of Commerce & Visitors Center has identified the following priorities and visions for the future direction of the organization.

Economic Development

The Chamber will partner with the City of Aztec and other community-based organizations to realize a higher potential of economic growth and development. We will position the Chamber to influence the development of the industrial park and arterial route to best serve the business community. We will be instrumental in developing Aztec as the artistic heart of San Juan County.

Stronger Voice

The Chamber will be proactive in dealing with the City on all Chamber and business related issues. We will be a governmental watchdog for businesses; be an effective liaison between the business community and the City of Aztec; and keep our members up to date on issues that could affect them. We will project a professional image through our materials, actions and responses. We will identify and address the specific business needs of our members.

Larger Building / Different Location

The Chamber will strategically locate to the most suitable acessible site to best meet the needs of the organization and Visitor's Center.  We will meet member needs with a building that expands services by offering meeting and training facilities; state-of-the-art technologies; and a larger selection for visitors of the local flavor of offerings and attractions.  Use of the "Chamber of Commerce & Conference Center" will be available to members, community organizations and individuals for a nominal fee.

Increase Chamber Funding / Financial Stability

The Chamber will be financially able to fund programs, events, and benefits to members, the community and our stakeholders.  We will develop several major fundraisers providing one half of our annual budget; increase and broaden membership; and provide target service to retain members.  We will have the funds to support a larger facility and increased staff.  We will develop a Chamber Foundation to increase our ability to address community and business needs on a comprehensive level.
